Guest guest
Hi all. This goes out to anyone who reads through the board, but it is probably most relevant to those people in here who do not have the ability to open their mouths. Whether it be through splints or a wiring system, teeth hygiene is nearly impossible. I've been wired for 9 days now and the inside of my mouth is feeling very dirty. There's a constant slime there right where the gums and teeth meet. THere are pasties, stickies and just down-right yuckies ALL the time. My biggies concern however is the shape of my gums. I would like to know how badly damaged my gums will be after 6 weeks of no real hygiene. The last thing i want is gum disease and have to go through another surgery fix that. Is there anyone out there who has survived 6 weeks of wiring and have any comments on this issue? Other than that, i'm coming along pretty well. .. i have a yellowish tinge under my skin that goes down my neck and into the upper parts of my chest. . is this normal? what is it? thanks for reading guys!
