Woops, I forgot to sign my name. It's Ellen :)To: BTVC-SCD Sent: Tue, July 20, 2010 10:09:11 PMSubject: oh, sneaky marinades

I ate illegals twice this week! grrr! Fish and meat that I didn't realize were marinated (grabbing the wrong leftover and confusion at the dinner table). I got this weird sensation going on in my lower stomach later in the day both times, which turns into lots and lots of gas. I;ve got so much gas in my stomach its painful. It's confusing because I already had increased gas and constipation this week because I think I'm going through the 3 month flare. And I tried a new juicing concoction recently. AND I've tried ginger tea the past couple days which I think has caused sweating and chills and generally sickness, but I can't help but wonder if the soy sauce and barbecue sauce caused those reactions. So many things happening in my body right now, I've gotta just stop the juice and ginger tea and chill out. Maybe tomorrow I can make some jello. Ugh, its just that this is the first week I was able to get organized and make all my food for

the week in two days. At least I have tons of chicken soup to eat. And this was the first week I was gonna get focused on other things besides this diet! Man, I really need my own place, no chance of contamination!!!

Hi Ellen,I don't really have any special advice for you, but I did want to say I completely sympathize with you. In five months I've only had two illegals and both times I was completely unaware that I was putting them in my system. It gets me so frustrated when it happens because (in my case anyway) it's always a mistake that I feel I could have avoided if I had just given more care to the situation. Grr. But now that I've been on the diet for a while (not much longer than you I think) I have a nice repertoire of enjoyable foods to eat and so there is less fumbling about with new ingredients, less large shopping trip and experimental meals and it's much more routine. But this only happened recently. Hang in there, it gets easier!

,Thanks for the words of encouragement :) I finally figured out that I need to make a schedule - plan the meals for the week, and spend 1 day shopping and cooking and another day cooking all day. Yeah, I am in the process of adding just a couple more interesting meals, so hopefully I can rotate them and keep my diet interesting enough. I'm excited for my two day cooking schedule, I love having no cooking at all to do, I even have a big batch of sauteed veggies. Everyone is worried about me focusing all my time on this diet, my mom wants me to stop, its infuriating. You spend all this time on the diet, and you're not even feeling much better....aargh. Maybe this reaction to just a bit of soy sauce got her attention. We shall see :)

I am working on seeing a good doctor soon, but i just found out he wants to retest me for celiac - my biopsy and blood tests were both negative, back when I was actually ingesting gluten on a daily basis. Sooo many disappointments this week, and its only Tuesday. Haha, thanks again for the support :)EllenTo: BTVC-SCD Sent: Tue, July 20, 2010 10:32:47 PMSubject: Re:
