Guest guest
I had both a chin bandage and my face was wrapped, in addition to the ice packs. The wrapping (basically my face was wrapped in gauze from under my chin to the top of my head) came off the day after surgery (surgery was in the morning on a Tuesday). That's when I got a good look at myself. The chin bandage had to stay on until the Friday same week. It left a lot of yucky residue that was fun cleaning off because I couldn't feel my chin and didn't want to!!! I was told by a friend who also had the same surgery that the chin bandage is supposed to help hold the muscles in place for the first few days post-op. I don't know why they wrapped my whole face, but probably for the same reason and to help minimize swelling. Hope that helps, > Can you tell me please how long you had a bandage on your jaw and chin if you had one at all?
