Guest guest
Hi everyone, My son is 7 1/2 months old and in his 2nd DOC Band. We started when he was around 4 months old to treat his severe brachy. He has made amazing progress throughout these 3 1/2 months. He has grown consistently since we first began treatment. We have decided to do a third band to try and get his CI into the mid, possibly low 80's. His CI 2 weeks ago was 88%. Since that time he must be having a growth spurt. We had to go back into CT on Friday because he was getting red spots. They told me he had grown 2 mm since we were just there on Monday. His tech told me that this was his last adjustment in this band. (he hasn't even been in it 7 weeks yet) His new band isn't scheduled to be here until a week from Monday. I know he will not make it in this band until then. Since we got the adjustment, I think he has grown even more because the band is feeling really tight. No red spots though, some light pink areas, but nothing severe..yet. I just question the fit because it feels so tight. I am kind of upset because this very same thing happened when he was growing out of his 1st band. They were able to get me the band earlier than originally planned, but the stress really gets to me. Now I am upset that we are in a band that probably isn't the best fit at the moment, when he is growing rapidly. As I said he has been growing since the beginning, but has had a few huge growth spurts in addition. My son is coming up on 8 months old and I just wish our tech would have planned ahead better and done the DSI a week earlier like I suggested. I will call on Monday and ask her to please try to adjust the band one more time, and to more sure the fit is still ok. Also, to see if we can receive dominic's new band any sooner. I'm pretty sure all this can be worked out, yet I sit here obsessing on the worst case scenario. I feel like all of this could have been easily avoided with better planning. I had no idea that we were almost done with this band. I knew he was getting his new band at week 8, but I didn't know that he would also have outgrown it then, in this case before then. I'm just sick of the ups and downs of this whole process, sorry for the venting.
Guest guest
Vent away. You've been so supportive to me (SweetNJMom/Babycenter) and I understand your frustration. I'm going to ask for my DS to get a Photostudy next week so that he doesn't have any lapse. I totally understand obsessing... I hope his tech is able to adjust the band one more time. ~Robyn > > Hi everyone, > > My son is 7 1/2 months old and in his 2nd DOC Band. Guest guest
Thanks Robyn, Fortunately, we were able to have his band adjusted one last time. I was right about the growth spurt, this sounds crazy but he grew 3 mm from Fri.-Monday. Plus the 2mm from the 4 days prior. We received good news also. Dominic's band will be arriving tomorrow, which is earlier than they anticipated. This is great news for me because he wouldn't have made it in this band until Monday, so I can relax and stop obsessing! > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > My son is 7 1/2 months old and in his 2nd DOC Band.
