Guest guest
Hi Everyone: Wanted to drop a note to say I am home from my Monday morning panni, minus a thigh apron stomach and pendulous ass " jowls " , but sporting a Foley catheter (till Monday), which I lovingly refer to as my piss bag (grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!). So far, I have to say, from what I can tell, I am looking pretty good, and frankly and candidly, I now seem to have the derriere of a 19 year old (except at 19 I never had this high of a derriere), and you could perch a banana split on my tuckus right now and it wouldn't fall! LOL! So, I am deleriously happy with my surgeon (Dr. Jin Chun of Mt. Sinai, gotta give the guy a plug) and I think this may go down in the annals of OSSG lore, but Dr. Chun showed up Monday morning on crutches. YEP! From a mishap over the weekend whilst playing with his kids, and at the time he thought it was just a sprain, but come to find out later that it was a broken metatarsul (sp?) bone. Anyway, he was assured and confident of his ability to proceed, and so was I once I found out he could carve me as he sat, and we went ahead and it was " magic. " Problems: Tuesday 9 am, catheter comes out, but urine doesn't, urine doesn't rear it's head all day Tuesday , so that at 3 PM I was feeling almost literally like I was going to explode. This was NOT fun. Catheter goes back in, hopefully comes back out on Monday at which time my bladder should have calmed down and should begin to work unassisted. Found out today that I have a bedsore already, and it's been there since Thursday, so I thought that seemed kind of early to develop one? Well anyway, I will see PS on Tuesday and hopefully all else is proceeding as it should. ly, I have been rather surprised by what has been a moderate (for me) level of pain, and it's been a happy surprise. Hope I don't have to reassess this as the anesthesia continues to wear off, but I have been managing for two days now with Tylenol only, since I had unpleasant reactions to morphine pump, percocet, and the vicoden they sent me home with. One thing started happening yesterday: suddenly my thigh (right underneath two of the drains) will feel like I am being BRANDED! OUCH! Hanging in there, but no longer drooping mid-section, Lucille
