Guest guest
Hey Judith, Yes we did go a " long " way to be with the men we love. I always said I'd never leave home but after my son graduated high school and I knew I'd be alone (he went off to college) I figured I'd seek out my soulmate! knocked me off my feet when my dear popped into my life and swept me off to Alabama. All I can attest to is its true love! After much depression...not with him but with trying to " fit " in here, not being able to find a job (told I am over qualified for the area)we decided to foster kids. Greatest challenge I could have taken on....except for the mouthy teens!!! Needless to say we are childless right now until our agency calls with some. For now we are glad since my surgery is just around the corner. About the Rockies...I love the mountains and can't find myself to call Mt. Cheaha a " real " mountain cause I like those with peaks not rounded on top. The air is so much cleaner too! I have asthma! Its much like it is here as far as " big " cities nearby to go and do " serious " shopping in yet small town to feel not so closed in. I have family in Montana/Wyoming and its so lovely there. Cold...but lovely! (smiles) Okay I know I am dreaming...LOL!!! I know there are tons of things that Alabama doesn't do that TX does that just makes me wonder who they have been able to continue as a state. Its true about recycling, schools, government in general...its horrible. Really behind the time's...and that's just my .02! If I need something and can't find it nearby we either make a list up and go towards B'ham or Atlanta to shop. My Mom is a master herbalist and send's me stuff when I need it as far as " health food " stuff. My sister sends me the spices that I love to cook with or I fill up with stuff when we go home to visit. It does cost ton's more here than other places to purchase items...or find quality of items too. Feel free to write me off message board at my email address. I'd love to chat with you anytime. I know how frustrating it can be living in a different enviroment too. What part of Germany are you from? That is where most of my roots are buried.
