Guest guest
Hello, We just had an appointment with Crainial Technologies yesterday and found out the our daughter has a severe deformation. Our physical therapist had told us that it was mild to moderate, so this was a little of a shock. Our daughter is 6 months old and we were told that treatment would take 6-8 months. This seems to be so much longer than all the cases that we were shown. Do they always estimate high? What was your personal experience? Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi , My daughter had brachy and treatment took 5 mo. Most babies finish in about 3 mo from what i have seen. If the head is severe it does take a while. Once you start seeing changes it definitely gets easier. At CT 6-8 mo means 2 bands. Each band lasts only 16 wks max (and the baby may outgrow it sooner). My daughter wore a starband and kept the same one until she outgrew it at 5 mo. However i would still say CT has the best overall reputation, so don't let the 1 vs 2 band thing scare you off. You may want to check out the photos area to see babies who look like yours (in terms of head shape and severity). Or post your pics to get opinions from us. It is possible that CT is being overly cautious, but also possible that your PT just didn't see all the problem areas. In the end you never know how long treatment will take because it relies on how fast your baby's head grows.
