Have you kept the weight off or yo-yoing like the bad ol' > days? Yo, yo and yo. For some it works. For me, the points system runs too carb-heavy. The 'points' are figured on calories & fat minus fiber. Sounds ok, except the fat-free foods have much lower points, but much higher carbs. As an example, a protein shake has 4-5 points. A fat free ice cream sandwich has 2 points. (But wow the carbs -- it's all sugar where the fat used to be!) Pasta has 2 points while the meat to go with it has 6 or 7. So, if you're trying to stay within, say 25 points for the day, and you've got 7 points left for your day, which are you going to pick, the plateful of spaghetti for 2-3 points, or the nice lean pork chop for 6? For normies, this is a no-brainer. For us, if we eat dense protein as our main foods, we use up our points too quickly. I lost well the first week, gained it all back plus 5 within a month. I think the initial loss was, like any other time, just a change in foods I was eating, and as soon as my body adjusted to what I was eating, I was gaining again, as I always do with too many carbs. But I know other post-ops who think it's great. So I guess it's another case of your mileage may vary. ~Lyn
