shoulder pain & cortizone shot....Xpost

Well, I just got back from the walk in clinic. For the last couple

of days my arm/shoulder has been hurting & it got so bad last night I

kept waking up & couldn't sleep. I can hardly raise it, move it,

etc. So headed out to find an urgent care clinic. When did so many

of them start closing on Sundays?

Anyway, I found one open, the diagnosis is right suprasphinatus

tendonitis. Great! What it means to me is lots & lots of very

painful pain. Okay - you all know the drill. Now must explain being

a gastric bypass patient & the no-no meds. Strangely, this doc was a

little savvy. He knew what wls was & he knew NSAIDs, etc were a no-

no. He said that he felt vioxx and/or a cortizone/steroid injection

was the best course of action. However, he suggested I call my

surgeon's office & speak with the nurse who advises about these

things (his words) & check with them.

I will do this in the morning, but I knew with all you wise folks,

someone may know about the cortizone (is that spelled with an " s "

or " z " ? oh well) shot. He said it should be less problematic but it

could cause pouch problems. He also said that since I was on

prilosec, taking the viox should be okay. I know, I know. I have

already given up vioxx a year ago so I won't even go there.

In the mean time he gave me vicodin. Vicodin makes me hallucinate,

but I am desperate at this point. I am in so much pain, I'll take

it. The only problem is tomorrow, I have to go to work so I can't

take vicodin. (Can you just see me high & hallucinating at the

recovery center _ LOL)

I am also posting this before I take it because I can not be sure of

anything I may say & therefore cannot be responsible. & also fearful

of shopping online. If I go to vitalady.com or amazon.com,or any

where who knows what UPS will be shipping to my house next week. LOL

Thanks, any help will be forever grateful
