Guest guest
Hello, My name is Mickie. I live in Birmingham, Alabama and I am 47. I had Lap Rny August 2, 2002. BMI 52 at a height of 5'2. My weight at the time of surgery was 290 lb size 28 & 30 clothes. I am now at 153 lbs & & BMI is 28. Clothes size 12 & very loose 14's. I feel wonderful & I am very excited about my up coming surgery. Just a little nervous. I have a question that hopefully someone can help me with. I have Plastic surgery scheduled October 1 for a panniculectomy. My insurance only will pay for the excess skin removal. Being a single parent it is not an option for me to borrow a lot of money to have the extra tightening done. My surgeon says he thinks I will do well with just the skin removal because my waist is small. Hopefully someone that has been thru this already can help. My questions are, 1. What can I expect as far as clothes size? Will my clothes size go down 2 sizes? 2. Are happy with just the panni & not the full TT? 3. Will I be able to go back to work after 12 days. I have an office position. 4. My son will be out of town at a school fuction. Will I be able to care for myself. Mickie
Guest guest
Here goes Mickie!!! 1. What can I expect as far as clothes size? Will my clothes size go > down 2 sizes? My clothes didn't change in size at all.....most all my panni was really low riding....don't know if this had anything to do with it. 2. Are happy with just the panni & not the full TT? YES, YES, YES.........I thought for sure my muscles would be a mess after 4 big babies and an emergency c-section..........but the panni removal alone was awesome. 3. Will I be able to go back to work after 12 days. I have an office > position. This will probably be real different for everyone......personally it was the hardest surgery I ever had.....including knee, c-section, bypass, both hands.......I was a mess mentally and physicall for at least 4-5 weeks. And the surgery went great and uneventful. 4. My son will be out of town at a school fuction. Will I be able to > care for myself. For me......NO WAY. I needed lots of help for at least a full two weeks......but like #3 this will surely vary from person to person............hope this helps some!
