I rarely go out to eat but I'm going w/some friends today. I thought I'd get the steak. Any ideas of something I could bring from home to season it or a sauce since I will ask for it plain??

Thanks!

I always bring butter, and have eaten steak with butter and it was great. That's the simple way.I recently made a sauce for stead: red wine vinegar, diced mushrooms, garlic, ginger, pepper, salt, drizzle of honey. Simmer it for about 5-10 minutes and then pour into a jar to bring with you.

Butter works nicely. <g>

If it's good steak, it doesn't need anything except maybe a little pepper

and salt and butter. (In my opinion, anyway!)

OTOH, I've made remoulade sauce (mayo-mustard-horseradish) which goes

really well with beef, even though I originally made it to go with

shrimp.
