I have not tried that one yet.F It was pretty good, considering I'd mixed it by hand and not with an electric mixer. I omitted the nuts because of Mr. Picky, and he crushed the NutQuick to a powder before letting me add it. As a bread, it was soft and nicely-textured, but it didn't rise much (but that may have been my fault). It made great french toast! Guest guest
Hi All, I have another question for you. This one is tricky.A few years ago, I was diagnosed with leukemia (as if dealing with CD was not enough!). I am fortunate in that the type of leukemia is very, very treatable. I take a daily chemotherapy pill (Gleevec) and have been in remission since 2008.The tricky part of this whole thing....if I don't eat enough "bread" texture with the Gleevec, I get violently ill from nausea. Over the past month, I have tried to fill up on protein and fats, almond flour, and yogurt and cooked vegies (i can't do the raw fruits/vegies yet) but nothing is working re: keeping the nausea at bay. So, I sip away on ginger tea and eventually have to take Zofran (nausea med).I need to be able to take the daily dose without getting sick. I know that bread is not allowed on SCD, but I wondered if anyone (in an extreme case like this) has ever been able to make a slight alteration to SCD by adding ezekial bread once a day?I am sorry for asking and I wish I did not have to find some way to alter the SCD but I can't keep getting so sick.thank you for any ideas,CD 2001SCD 1 monthEntocort 9 mg6-MP 75 mg

If bread is the only thing that prevents your nausea -- and doesn't seem to be causing undue gastrointestinal problems for you -- I wouldn't worry about it much. I'm finding that as I've healed I've been able to eat sourdough bread now and then and can periodically use small amounts sprouted spelt flour: Re: the sourdough, the sourdough action seems to break down the starches in the grain (as does sprouting). That works for me at this point, though I'm careful not to do it too often; I'm not assuming it will work for everybody, nor am I recommending that others try it.
