Guest guest
Lorraine, if Dr. Oh's office is like most bariatric surgeon's offices (and you know he's busier than most), there will be cancellations, and you will get a call asking if you would like your surgery tomorrow (or next week or next month). I know you don't want to count on it, but there's a real good possibility it will get moved up. And, even if it's not, you have a date! We're heading into a busy holiday season, and the days will go by pretty quickly now. Most of us can remember the frustration of waiting. So all I can say is just hang in there, baby! Hugs, in NJ *********************************** > Well, I called Dr. Oh's office this morning. I have been given the > date of Jan. 6, 2004. I am grateful for my approval, etc. etc. etc. but I am so upset about the date. A lot of it has to do with the office dropped the ball so often that it took a month for my letter to even get sent to my insurance. I told them I would self pay if necessary, but they said if they put me down as a self pay, they would stop the insurance process. Guest guest
Thanks, . I swear I feel worse (with regards to anxiety) than I did with my first surgery. You would think I was experienced by now - LOL. Hey - I can still stay on the grad group post surgery - right? Lorraine > > Well, I called Dr. Oh's office this morning. Guest guest
Lorraine, I don't know what your physical condition is now and how much mobility you have, but here's my 2 cents, take it or leave it. I would use this time to get in as best shape physically as I can. Forget about the eating part...you'll go head crazy, expecially with the holidays coming up. Thinking too much about the food will probably cause you to gain. The better mobility you can achieve now before surgery, the easier time you'll have in recovery. Even if you only do walks and stretches, that would be a leg up. Back exercises, like the cat stretch, will really help you to keep from stiffening up post-op. And the sooner you can get up and walk aroung after surgery, the better you'll feel. So try to see this as an opportunity, not a set back. You only have three months to go. Vicki A.
