Guest guest
It took about three and a half years for my iron levels to go in the toilet. Have been taking iron supps since my wls religiously. Finally had to cave and go for the iron infusions. Been at it twice a week for a few weeks now. He has me scheduled for 23 infusions. My levels have gone from a low of 8.7 to a current 10.3. Starting to really feel the difference in my energy level. Doc said you usually start feeling better when you hit 12. Was surprised when I told him I was feeling considerably better. I too feel humble while I'm there with the people getting their chemotherapy treatments. Even bumped into a lady I used to work with years ago who is currently undergoing chemo. The doc usually puts me in a private room, but she asked if we could sit together and we talked about the " old days " at work and just laughed our asses off and made the people around us laugh at out antics. I stayed with her for three hours. She didn't realize that my iron infusion takes about a minute and I'm out of there. It wasn't until the end of her treatment that she realized I wasn't being unhooked from anything. She so appreicated the company and the much needed laughs. I apprecicated the fact that what I have won't kill me in a few months. I worry more about staircases, cars, lamp posts, etc. That's what will get me. Sometimes you need to be reminded that everything is relative. Regina
