CST and Chiro?

Hi everyone,

Today we had our first appointment for CST. The therapist was very experienced

and knowledgeable, she pointed out the problems and said fixed some of it. We

have to follow up on Friday, and if everything is fine my son will see her every

3 weeks.

Since some of you do CST and Chiro, I made an appointment for chiro tomorrow.

My question is how do you visit the therapists- do you go in on different weeks,

or have one full course with one and then the other? Should we go to the chiro

tomorrow? I am afraid that the treatments will overlap or interfere. Do you tell

them you do both? Our insurance wouldn't cover the CST, but may cover some of

the chiro.

We will go to see the chiro tomorrow and see what she has to say.

One good thing I've learned today was that CST can be done with good results by

the age of 3. The Hanger people say 18 months is the age that head can be

corrected, CT people say 24 months... And you still see improvements in

's head... I tend to believe in the alternative medicine more than the

docs, and the info in this chat more than what the docs say. Thank you for

posting on regular bases, I've learned a lot from you.

One practical question- on the days of treatments did have one

additional hour without the helmet on, or that was the treatment hour?

weekly and then went biweekly and then monthly. We stopped going from March

until August, when we started going monthly again. We may switch to every other

month after December. She started CST at 14 months

> Chiro was started at the end of August. We did three times weekly for 12 weeks

and we are now down to once a week. I anticipate that we will always to

" wellness " adjustments every few weeks just to keep things in alignment. The

three times a week schedule was pretty intense, but was recommended because we

were told that her case was severe (lots of misalignments). She started chiro at

24 months

nearly in the same situation as was. Good for you for getting going on

the alternative treatments. Hopefully you will see the benefits that you want

to.

I can't say for sure how much was the helmet. I do see benefit from the

alternative treatments after the helmet, but I don't have an official computer

scan to document it.

finally getting off of her reflux medication. We started a 33 percent dose on

Saturday and she is doing well on it. This is the same child whose reflux caused

a failure to thrive diagnosis at about 12 months. And, the same child who failed

every attempt to take her off her medication, including one 3 months ago.
