I don't know your situation exactly - but I was petrified of losing my

resemblance to my materal grandmother (who passed away in 2000).

What's funny is I actually look more like her now than I did then. I

guess it depends on what you are having done - but I don't think the

surgery changes everything it's just that people are used to seeing

you a certain way and then you look a little different.

I know I went into my favorite deli - and the checkout girl I see all

the time looked at me like I had ten heads. For a while I was bummed

out...but then I realized that she probably just couldn't pin point

what looked different - maybe my hair? or weight?

Anyway - whatever relatives I looked like before - I think I look like

them more now.

Hi Becky-

I'm having both upper & lower done for an overbite. Right now I have a bit of a

resemblance to my paternal grandmother, my mom said it got more obvious once I

lost the weight. I'm not too worried about it - like I said my parents are

struggling with it. I keep looking in the mirror and trying to imagine what the

changes will bring.

The other funny thing is that other people have said that my sister and I look

alike. We don't see it at all - she has no bite issues (and I always thought she

was very pretty). I think that we will look MORE alike post surgery with my bite

corrected. Not sure how she feels about that. Sisters can be so competitive over

the funniest things.

Thanks for the good thoughts
