Guest guest
I know what you mean about seeming like it was just yesterday, but seeming it's been an eternity. I would hate to have to get my septoplasty redone, but to me it looks like that's going to be the case. I'm almost positive my overgrown upper jaw led to an overgrown septum which just doesn't fit anymore regardless of how my surgeon trys to nudge it back into place. There is a fine line between not taking enough off and taking too much, so I think he went the conservative route...which I'm not blaming him for, I'd be even worse off if he took off too much. I'm curious to see what your surgeon says about your nose. I can't remember what you had done, but I'm sure upper at least because of the nose issues. mmmm...breadsticks.....I could kill for some breadsticks right now. I keep telling myself, 3 more weeks, then I can chew something at least, and bread is first on that list. I've tried to eat normal foods like spaghetti chopped very very small so I can just swallow it, but it's not the same. I've even tried to let a york peppermint patty melt in my mouth, but that didn't work either:-(. I was prepared for the swelling to be bad for a few weeks, but I'm still finding myself impatient. I'm not splinted, thank goodness, so I don't have that extra bulk. I think that may be contributing some to yours. Those splints are awfully bulky for such little things. I'm still quite a bit swollen in my cheeks right around where the screws and plates are, especially on my right side. Every day gets a little better though, so I'm hoping the couple little mm's I'm missing in my lip closure is from that. Meanwhile I'm stretching out my lips as much as possible! LOL. Good luck with your appt. and keep us posted! > > Hi all, > > > > Just wanted to update you guys on my post-surgery blues and other > > issues.
