Guest guest
Hi everyone, I posted a week or so ago that my family and I are all doing the South Beach Diet thing. The first two weeks are like Atkins, except with more emphasis on veggies and lower fat choices (not fake low fat, but chicken and fish instead of beef, etc.) It has been wonderful for me. Carb detox the easy way - honest. The book has good recipes, and the fact that we are all doing it together has made it so simple. We are 10 days into the 14-day first phase. My dh has lost 9 pounds. My almost-14 y.o. son has lost 15!!!!! (And he looks like they all came off his waist. His waist is SEVEN INCHES smaller! Pretty amazing.) He is actually in on " phase 2 " on the days he has aerobic training or baseball. That means he has some complex carbs added in to his diet. But on non-training days he goes back to phase one with the rest of us. He is SO PROUD of himself and said yesterday " This is making me feel great. Do you think we can do this forever? " Brought joy to my heart. I have lost 5 which is just fine. However, the biggest payoff for me is the returned energy, vitality and joy. I am now convinced that carbs have a depressive effect on me. Anyone else have that feeling? lol... hugs, Ann
