Guest guest
Sleep is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO important to our overall health and well being. I do a sleep exercise to help me get there. I imagine myself at the top of an aquarium I visited years ago. The top floor was like a tropical paradise, sunny, lots of green plants, very lush....then I get on an escalator and go down, as I go down, I look at all the fish...first the area is well light and bright tropical fish, then as it goes deeper the light begins to fade and becomes very peaceful and I watch the stingrays, etc. Before I know it .....I'm asleep. If that doesn't work? I get up and take one of two things, either valerian root, a natural sleep aid http://www.aafp.org/afp/20030415/1755.html is an article from the american academy of family physicians. Doesn't leave you groggy when you wake up. There are some warnings about interactions with certain meds so do some investigation before taking it. The only bad thing about valerian as far as I'm concerned is that it smells bad! Just hold your nose when you take it! If I really want to SLEEP and don't have to get up the next day I take a muscle relaxant and boy do I sleep good! that good old drool sleep! I slept on my sofa that has a recliner part for the first 2 weeks and a couple of times the third week as well. now I sleep in the bed and use 2 pillows, if I dont use 2 pillows I wake up rather swollen. Good luck, it is so frustrating not to be able to sleep, especially when you are exhausted! Hugs, Connie
