Mistreatment on the forum....

I have been following this list since the early 90’s

even long before “Marllyn” so I am disturbed that a

“late” comer (3 years) seems to need to ATTACK someone who has been

giving of their time and efforts so effectively and well. I have learned

through much trial and error that the thing that I am critical of is what I am

guilty of. ….Judge not that you be not judged. I would like

to suggest that it is essential to look at one’s own motives before

publically attacking someone else. Peace (your salutation) is obviously

not your purpose here, only perhaps to stir up some self sympathy for an

pessimistic attitude that seems often, to follow this disease.

I am GRATEFUL that today there is so much more information

out there on the internet than when I started it is wonderful to see hundreds

of people working on stopping these diseases. I am GRATEFUL that my

daughter and my favorite aunt have this excellent resource to count on when

they need it. I am GRATEFUL for the many hours and the wonderful heart

shown by Marilyn as long as I have been lurking here. Keep up the GREAT

work.

I am PRAYING encouragement over Marilyn and all those who

struggle to find a more healthy way,

– I certainly agree with you.

For some of my posts Marilyn was rather abrupt with me. And

like you I received several personal emails from other members who offered me

their support and also said that they had come to understand that that was how

Marilyn acts a lot of the time. Consequently I don’t post very often now.

I do believe that Marilyn means well, but perhaps she needs

to think of how things come across before writing in such a fashion.

What were you discussing at the time? Were you advocating non-SCD stuff? You're an adult, right? You presumably have learned not to go off in a huff when or if someone appears to answer you in a way you don't like. You've learned to evaluate the circumstances when people address you and not to jump to conclusions?I've NEVER seen Marilyn make any negative PERSONAL comments to anyone on this list. She is, of course, concerned that people don't advocate stuff that is not in compliance with the diet. She's the moderator; that's her responsibility, one she clearly takes seriously. Nor have I seen her get annoyed with whiners (and there have been one or two from time to time). The rest of us -- clearly almost all of the rest of us -- can judge what you and say only based on our general knowledge of Marilyn's running of this ship over quite some time, and the person you're describing does not at all fit my (and I dare say almost everybody else's) own perception of Marilyn over these many months.I find it interesting that wrote that he doesn't want to see "a lot of people replying to defend Marilyn." That's rich! He's essentially bashing a person -- without proving what he says -- and he thinks the rest of us should just shut up in response because he, after all, is representing the poor put-upon people who Marilyn has "abused"?! Uh...I suspect that he didn't say who wrote him because they wrote him privately

(the ones he mentioned said they were " too intimidated " or " too tired of

arguing " to speak up). And I suspect he said that he didn't want to " see a lot

of people defending Marilyn " because everyone knows she has support here (some

more vehemently outspoken than others) but those people who are too intimidated

aren't more likely to speak up because they'll just be bashed the way he's being

bashed now. Just a thought.
