Ok now another question about the iron supplements. In addition to the

increased water ... any secrets for avoiding the constipation that goes with

taking iron? I already add flax seed to my shakes and have used the smooth move

tea on and off. I also used Benefiber. But earlier this week I had the

opposite problem ... really a problem... so I cut out the Benefiber and the tea.

Also about how long before you seem to notice a difference once you start taking

iron supplements? I have been wondering how I was going to be able to go back

to work 8 weeks post op from hysterectomy now I know WHY I have been so

concerned. I am 4 and 1/2 weeks post op now.

Which iron are you taking?

I use two generic colace every night. When I feel things " tightening

up, " I am quick to double or triple the colace. (Don't get the

pericolace, which also has a laxative in it. Colace is just a stool

softener.) I also use the ground flax seed. I only use the smooth

move tea when things are pretty desperate because the senna in it is

a laxative and I don't want to get dependent on laxatives.
