Well, Marilyn

I'm not sure which way you meant " dry wine is not SCD legal, so using

the occasioonal bit of dry wine is not an SCD infraction " 'cause I'm

thinking there must be a typo in there.

My point is that my friend is extremely legalistic in her adherence to

SCD believing that it won't work if you have any flexibility about it.

And she might be right! But as far as I know, the scientific jury

is still out.

Many of us are on extremely modest budgets and must work long hours

just to pay the bills. Consequently, we have very little time and

simply don't can't spend the time and money to do it all " right " . I'm

grateful for the improvement I can actually afford and have the time

to incorporate into my life. Besides this, though, those of us who are

extremely sensitive to yeasts, molds, and all fermented things ARE

cheating when we do wine... but, still, I do it every once in a while.

Grace in all things,

Artful Carol

Dry wine is not SCD legal, so using the

occasional bit of dry wine is not an SCD infraction.

I'm not sure what you mean by a " fundamentalist

SCD " friend, but I can tell you that Elaine was

one of the most pragmatic people I've ever met.

That's why I take her strictures as absolute. Why I advocate " make your own. "

In the early days on SCD, I tried a brand of

canned tomatoes which some people said was okay

because I was sick to death of peeling and

seeding tomatoes for sauce. I reacted badly to

it. I went back to peeling tomatoes.

I've done that with a bunch of things. Funny

situation, though. It's taken me years. NOW I

could tolerate some of the canned stuff, like

tomatoes, and don't WANT to for the most part! Because I like fresh food!
