Guest guest
Went to the OS this a.m. to get my splint removed.....I was VERY apprehensive and told him I was very worried that I wasn't going to be able to open my mouth enough for the mold to be taken and I was afraid of it hurting. He had me open my mouth and reassured me that it would be ok. Then he snipped the wires holding it in place (no pain) and pulled it out..... " you can brush now " I went to the mirror and saw that my teeth had these VERY ATTRACTIVE fur coats on each one! YUCK! I brushed and brushed...man it felt GOOD! Dr. Voorhees came back in and very carefully took my upper mold. No pain at all! WHEW! I had to work so I couldn't come back in the afternoon to get my retainer thang....so I will go Tuesday a.m. and get that. I was able to go all day without being banded! COOL! I ate scrambled eggs, the usual soup, and even broke up a cookie into teeny, tiny bits and ate it. Wonderful. Also nice to be able to talk and be understood! I've been saying I don't have any numbness, etc. Turns out my hard palate does have some numbess, I'm sure it will all go away soon. Right now my teeth don't go together, however, what is happening is that my front upper teeth are striking the bracket on my lower front teeth so I can't close. Once the bottom teeth are straight, everything will go together fine, I am sure. This wed I will be 4 weeks post op. I still get swollen if I sleep on one pillow, I still take my Aleve and tylenol throughout the day and still have an occasional tingling sensation in my left ear. However, I am also WAY overdoing it....my choice. I am working 64 hours this week because next week I am going to a summer camp in Oklahoma that I go to each year and working as I do I have no benefits, so I have to work to make up for the hours I will lose next week. Weight loss is right at 13 pounds....I'm shooting for a total of 20. Before surgery I weighed 170 and I am 5foot 3inches......too much for my frame really. LUNA YOU LOOK GREAT!!!!!!
