Again, a little late with a response. Sorry! I have a friend who finally got decent pain control when she was referred to an oncology pain specialist. She doesn't have cancer, but he told her that he was going to treat her as though she did, because the pain was comparable. I don't remember now everything that he did, but I do remember that he put her on Methadone, which helped quite a bit. So that might be an option for some of you. I don't know how you get into an oncologist when you don't have cancer; I think maybe one of her docs referred her.

Rose, i tried Nopalea and it worked well at first but then, even as i upped the amount, the pain got worse and worse. This year, even with Nopalea, it has been like when I first got sick. I stopped taking it. I think it was messing with my immune system or one of the ingredients was making me react. Toward the end I was drinking up to a cup a day which would come out to $300 a month. ...just couldn't afford it any more. hugs S.Life may not always be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we might as well dance!Subject: pain reliefTo: neurosarcoidosis Date: Monday, June 28, 2010, 5:24 PM

I'm still trying to catch up on emails. Bob, what type of pain does Nopalea help? Folks in the group often refer to their pain, but I don't always know what kind of pain it is. For myself, I have a variety of pains, some just an annoyance & some that really interfere with my activity level.
