Guest guest
Hi B. I am in the UK, too so am also on the NHS. I had mi 1st consultation with the surgen on May the 19th, and he arranged the surgery then and there, so i believe that the surgen has to be there to make the appt. as it has to fit with his personal schedule. Mi op will be on the 18th July, and i can wait! I will then have to wear braces for another 2 months, and hey presto! I will be transformed. Hope this is helpfull to you. Charlotte > Hey - I just had my op on the NHS on 2 June. I had a consultaton with my surgeon roundabout the time my teeth were in the right position (in Feb) and arranged a date soon after. My surgeon had a lead time of around 6-7 weeks - I got the feeling that this was more to do with availability of a surgery slot at the hospital than the amount of preparation involved. I could've got a surgery slot late April/ early May but there was just too much stuff going on at work in that time. > > Hope this helps! > Schedule? > > > > Hi all, i am having murders with getting any kind of shedule for what > is happening with my jaw surgery. Guest guest
Hi, I assume that your OD is creating a space between your teeth where your jaw will be segmented. I had to have spaces created on my upper teeth which took about 2 months. When the spaces were big enough my OD put on the surgical wires and hooks. Once that was completed my OS went ahead and scheduled a surgery date a month and a half after the hooks and wires were put on. There are a bunch of pre-op appts. that you will have before your surgery date. You will more than likely have to schedule a Physical, pre-op workup at the hospital, a few appts. with your OS, and possibly a final appt. with your OD to make sure nothing is broken. You may also have to donate blood pending on your OS preference. Anyway, you are probably still looking at a few months out if just all you have remaining is creating a space for the segmenting. You will normally meet with your surgeon for at least a consult appt. before anything is scheduled. Anyway, I hope I helped out a little. I know how frustrating it can be waiting for an answer from your OD. This entire process requires a bunch of patience! Hang in There, > > Hi all, i am having murders with getting any kind of shedule for what > is happening with my jaw surgery.
