Guest guest
, You did just fine. If that's what it takes to get some in, it's no problem. You're diluting the grape juice by mixing it with the electrolyte drink. Whatver that grey, ropey stuff was.... I'm just glad it's out now! And yes, the nice normal brown colored stool is a good sign. Patti Electrolyte Drink We are day 5 and my son is now definitely dealing with constipation. I have been doing the epsom salt lotion thing and last night I made the electrolyte drink but to get him to swallow it I finally resorted to mixing it with some grape juice. I don't know if that is what finally helped or the salts, but he did finally go and had 2 different types of poop in there. The first was this really weird gray-ish stuff that was in like little snake shapes, very strange, and that was followed by a softer and hopefully this is a good sign, brown, stool. So, is it OK to mix the electrolyte drink with grape juice like I did last night, or does it need to be taken all by itself and how frequently? Thank you!!! 2 yo PDD
Guest guest
Hey guys! I just came across this electrolyte drink on Mark's Daily Apple, and wanted to post it in case, for some reason or another, the SCD electrolyte drink doesn't work for some people. Not sure if this is even a good replacement, just thought I'd throw it out there =)What about the athletes who miss their sports drinks? How about a Primal electrolyte-enhanced beverage? After all, the key components to any sports drink – the stuff that really matters – are the electrolytes: sodium, chloride, and potassium. When you sweat, those are the minerals that you excrete. Making a proper sports drink entails adding enough electrolyte-containing ingredients. Sodium and chloride are easy enough; basic table salt has what you need in a teaspoon or two. The most potassium-rich foods are yogurt, pork chops, broccoli, avocados, bananas, and spinach, respectively, but I doubt a pork chop smoothie’ll go down smooth when you’re working up a sweat. Luckily, an average-sized lemon contains 48.3 g of potassium, more than your typical bottle of Gatorade contains. Squeeze the lemon and add a few pinches of table salt to your water for a Primal alternative to sugary sports drinks.http://www.marksdailyapple.com/soda-alternatives/ Cheers!Alyssa 16 yo UC April 2008, dx Sept 2008SCD June 2009 (restarted)Azathioprine 75 mg 1x per dayPrednisone 20 mg 1x per day
Guest guest
Half a lemon and water gave me cramps and D within an hour. Maybe the addition of salt would help. Don't know that I'm brave enough to try though ;-). Holly Crohn's SCD 12/01/08 > > Hey guys!
