Guest guest
Isn't it funny how we can still worry about the " superficial stuff " when facing surgery. I remember when I was in agony and about to give birth to my third child. All I could ask for was my lipstick , which I then applied..... it was a totally insane gesture, but it made me feel in control during a moment of total chaos and pain (by the way, he was 9lbs). I laugh about it now! -- surgery clothes as a thirteen surgery veteran - one of my main pre-op preps is the " surgery outfit! " my boyfriend always laughs at me 'cause i start planning months in advance...i have a couple of options this time - but i haven't narrowed it down to one. this time i've bought a ton of pj's with loose waistbans (since i'm have the bone graft taken from my hip i didn't want anything touching it), some new slippers, and even less supportive (aka more comfy) bras ) he thinks i've definitely lost it ) if you ever need a shopping buddy ...just look me up! -becky > > > > > > Well it's been a week since I joined this site and even > > though > > > I > > > > > > haven't type much, I have been checking out all the > > messages! > > > My > > > > > > surgery is 6 weeks from Monday, so I will have some time > > left. > > > I > > > > > have > > > > > > found all these messages from everyone very helpful! Guest guest
, I can relate. I went from my water braking to transition labor with my third child in about two minutes. My husband was trying to help me get dressed while I was struggling to breath. I asked for my black shoes (to go with my black pants). He dropped them in front of me and ran to start the car (it was the middle of the night) and get someone to watch our other kids. To my horror, he left me with my nave blue shoes. It took me about five minutes to make it around the bed to the closet to retrieve my black shoes - but I made it! He came running in to see what was taking me so long! We made it to the hosptial with about five minutes to spare before the blessed event!
