Guest guest
Val I am 12 weeks post op (lowere advancement), and things still feel wierd. I was wired shut for 6 weeks, and I could barely open wide enough to fit my pinky in my mouth. I can now open wide enough to fit my index and middle fingers in, but that is it, and it has been that way for about 3-4 weeks. I feel like I am talking normal again, but eating is comletely different story. I can't open wide enough to bite into anything (burger, hot dog, banana). It gets really frustrating because I have to break everything into small pieces in order to eat it. I am hoping that this gets better, but I am beginning to think that this is the widest that I will be able to open. I saw a lot of progress in the first couple of weeks after being unwired, but not much since then. I know that I am only 12 weeks post op, and I should be patient, but I am getting very dicouraged. > Hi everyone, I'm Val. I had lower jaw surgery 12 days ago - my lower > jaw was extended by 5mm.
