Guest guest
BIRTH CONTROL WARNING..... I was told by my surgeon that birth control pills are NOT absorbed 100% after surgery. They become less effective. If you are taking the pill, you also need to use another form like said. HOWEVER, the reason that the shot makes some people gain weight is because it worsens cravings. For those who had bad cravings around that time of the month, the shot sometimes makes the cravings worse, thus adding weight. I have been on the shot since April, pre-surgery, and I have been losing at a steady rate. I watch closely what I eat and when I eat. I only had surgery on May 27, 2004 and I have since lost 44lbs. That seems to be close to others that started around my weight and had surgery around the same time as me. CAUTION?????? I was told by my obgyn that the ring and patch are only guaranteed to work for females that weigh around 170 and less. The added weight takes away from the effectiveness for some reason. They even showed me the information sheet that comes with both so that we could research it. I wanted to inform you all of this, not to tell you that anyone is wrong, but to bring up this fact that I found. Because of the weight limit being 170 or below for the patch and the ring, and I weighed 261 around this time, we decided the shot was best for now. Once I get to around 170 I think that I am going to switch to the patch or ring because my cycle has been mixed up because of the heprin injections during surgery and they say that it takes your body around 3 shots to get used to it and then balance out. Again, I AM NOT SAYING THAT ANYONE IS WRONG. I am just stating my findings. This will be my last post as I am going to Miami now. Everyone have a good weekend and I will post and read again when I have access. Bethany 281/261/217 YEY!
