Guest guest
I was on the bc pill before surgery and my surgeon took me off prior to surgery to reduce the chance of blood clots and stroke. I was told that if I was going to go back on it after surgery that I needed to crush it and was advised to also use another form of contraceptive with the pill. I was told that as you lose weight you become more fertile and the facts on whether or not the bc pill is asorbed are just not out there. I though about doing the shot but my gyn said nope because of the weight gain that can usually come with it. My gyn recommended the patch or the ring. Right now I am trying the NuvaRing. It works just like the bc pill, only it is inside your body so it is absorbed more efficiently. You don;t even know it is there. You use 1 ring for 3 weeks, take it out for one week, and then insert a new ring. Hope this helps. Jenn 339/259/130 Open RNY 5/26/04 down 80 lbs WOO HOO!!!
