Guest guest
I'm 3 years post op and you've all inspired me to get my labs done. I had been only doing crit (which was 27- augh!). I finally received my report Friday (it was done 8/22/03). I don't understand some of it. The things that were reported 'high' were: BUN 26 BUN/Creatinine Ratio 29 A/G ratio 1.9 PTH, intact 77.4 What does this mean and what am I to do to fix this? Things that were " low " Carbon Dioxide 22 WBC 4.4 HGB 10.1 HCT 32.1 (that's my highest!) MCV 70.3 MCH 22.3 MCHC 31.7 Other: Vit b12 was 594 Folate was 13.9 Since these labs were taken I've been taking Foltrin 1-2x daily w/vit C & rosehips, restarted protein shakes (thanks Vitalady), and am taking a multi or 2/day. I've also added calcium to shakes, Vit D. How am I doing? I can't believe I've waited this long to start figuring this out. I guess the important part is that I AM now (thanks to my dear PCP and you guys!) Any advice would help! Hugs, Lori -----
