Guest guest
Sherry, thanks for the site and thank you for the update on Shirley. You had better make sure she keeps THIS appt. I swear, that girl is going to give me ulcers and I really don't need them. You tell her I said that.! She will be so proud that she went. She really needs to go so she doesn't get any worse and maybe she will be relieved to find out she doesn't have RP or anything else that she has us all worried about. I love you both and am sending lots of hugs your way.
Guest guest
Sorry to hear that Shirley has RP. At least they have found it in the early stages and she will get the right treatment. Also both of you are more informed about RP than you were a few years ago. Please know that you are both in my thoughts and prayers. Lots of love Glenda Well Shirley went to the doctor today, and it was not good news . She does have Rp . Dr. said she was the first one that he had seen where one of the parents had it. She goes back on the 5th . Please keep her in your prayers . Love to all Sherry
Guest guest
Sherry, YES it does make me feel better! Thanks so much! Now I really know it's normal. As for the sneezing, Becky recommended trying to keep your mouth open so that you don't upset the palate rather than keeping it closed as I did which really sent a unlikeable feeling through my mouth. Good luck and hopefully you won't sneeze for a while. Oh and by the way, I had curdled milk once pre-op and it was DISGUSTING! I was sick for days so I can only imagine what it must have been like with your mouth wired shut. I think you can safely say you've been through the worst part and from now on everything will be easier:-) Sara > > Hi there, > > Well, I havent had the sneeze attach yet, but I have been waiting for > it (not excitedly I must add!!) but I am sure I will try to hold my > face together too!! Guest guest
I sure hope this is the end of the worst part!! The nausea etc is very discouraging....I have lsot 14 lbs in 9 days!! OMG! anyhow, thanks for the tip on the sneezing method --- I would have opted to hold my mouth shut too. I pour pepper on my food but always try to stand back!! hahhah....well if you want to call it food--soup is more like it & I am not a soup person...tomorrow my wires come off (only day 10) please can anyone put my mind at ease. I really am scared. Tahnks Sher -- In orthognathicsurgerysupport , " Sara " <sararegine@a...> wrote: > Sherry, > > YES it does make me feel better! Thanks so much! Now I really know > it's normal. Guest guest
Hi Sara, Yes I m worried about getting the wires off. Only because they used to leave them on for 6 weeks. I surely dont think I caould handle that. THey will still keep elasticized really well but should be able to eat mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs...stuff like that...I am sure I will be timid like you are...I can't believe how long my face looks. I really dont like it at all. I have heard that it takes about 5-6 mths to really see what you will truly look like. 11 lbs is still a lot ! I ahve had an ordeal with nausea & vominting though so that didnt help. Keep us posted onhow you are doing. Guest guest
Try not to be frightened, Sherry. You're approaching another sign of progress! One more step along the road. You may not be able to open very wide, even when you're unwired, but follow your doc's instructions and you'll get there.
