Guest guest
so - i never signed up for the 403b (my fiance wanted me to do it back in feb - so i'm not surprised). a 403b is just like a 401k (or a retirement plan) - it's just used for educational purposes - since i work for nyu that's what they use. i think the numbers refer to some line on the tax code...but beats me. i did get a burrito...and nachos...and a margarita! so good. although at the end of my lunch the surgeon's assistant called. did i ever see a cardiologist? i was like - what??? she said - you're not cleared for surgery because you were supposed to see a cardiologist. so here's the flashback sequence: may 9th - primary care appt. see dr. says i'm fine. mentions he hears no heart mumur. may 25th - pre-op appt. the anethesiologist who checked me out (who by the way was older than god) says - " i think i hear a heart murmur. " i say - " that's funny. the other guy didn't. " he says - " i'm gonna call the other guy. maybe you should have a echo? i'll find out. " today - blockhead burrito fest. a cardiologist??? the asst calls the pre-admit people. yeah - something about a heart murmur. i almost dropped dead. are you kidding me??? so i walked to the primary care dr. he's not there today or tomorrow. i ask the receptionist if she could just print out my file so that i could bring it with me tomorrow. she does and i'm on my way. went the surgeon's office. they say - " hey - this is the name of the guy the pre-admit people wanted. " conclusion - it wasn't a cardiologist at all. dr. old-man-in-the-sea never talked to dr. i'm-young-and-never-in-the-office. they accepted (i hope) the old file as proof the general physician said it was ok. here's hoping i really don't have a heart murmur and have massive complications tomorrow. crisis adverted, i went to copy the keys to the apt for my mom (the fiance says " you did what?!? " - it's going to be a long week ) then i got a mani/pedi. i think tonight i'm going to get some pizza w/sausage & peppers and go to the movies. any suggestions? i'm think cinderella man...i'm saving star wars for post-op. i'm also going to take some close up pre-op pics - and hopefully say goodbye to my fistula forever i still need to pack - but seeing as i live 2 blocks (literally) from the hospital - i'm sure my mom could run back (with her new key) for whatever i need. if i don't talk to you later - thanks for all your support. i couldn't have made it this far without you!!! -becky
