Guest guest
Just an FYI, my social worker cap is on. I believe that fear, if used properly, can be a great motivator. A little bit of fear keeps me from being in certain areas of town alone after dark. A little bit of fear helps when the wrong guy is making advances. A little bit of fear of gaining weight can prevent me from eating that candy bar or ice cream. I remember a couple of years ago when I lived in Dallas, I didn't own a car. I had the option of taking 3 buses home and avoiding downtown or going downtown and taking only 2 buses. My common sense (fear) told me take the 3 buses but my comfort level told me 2 buses. I ended up in downtown Dallas at 10 pm and was robbed while down there. If I had listened to that fear of mine I would have gotten home safetly that night. Sometimes I have to listen to that little feeling and respect it for what it is.
