Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has tried to keep their surgery a secret from all but their most immediate family. I am having surgery September 27 and don't want everyone to know. Does anyone have any advice for me? Also, my sister keeps asking me how I will handle Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holidays centered around food. She is supportive of my decision to have the surgery but is worried I will suffter some type of emotional crisis during the holidays. Is it depressing? Do you have regrets then? Another thing is that I keep hearing everyone talk about the nausea. My surgeon has given me a patch to put on the night before surgery that should even help get the magnesium citrate down plus it will last for three days to help with the initial nausea. I also have prescription suppositories for nausea for after I get home. I feel that my doctor has been much more thorough in anticipating the meds I might need than a lot of people I read about online. Please try asking your doctor to be more proactive in prefenting the nausea. I am learning so much from reading all of your experiences. Those of you who talk about your weight loss, riding a bicycle for the first time, playing more with your children - you have all been such inspirations. I can't wait to have my own story to tell.
