Guest guest
Hello; I am new to this group. Had my bypass (rou-x) July of 1999.Have had very bad time of it. My chest hurts a lot ever surgery. Taking antacids help the pain. I know the acid part of the stomach is not connected anymore, so the fact that antacids help is a puzzle. If staple line was leaking, then I should be having much more serious problem by now. My doc will not see me anymore as I have lost my health insurance. I have had one pulmonary embolism due to the surgery, ( a serious and possibly fatal result that no one considers before surgery, but is very common) If it was another one coming on then why does antacids help? When you have no insurance, it is bad! Is there anyone else out there that have had a bad surgery after effects? Everyone seems to think it is a good deal on this site, at least as far as I have read. It has been an overall bad experience for me. The after effects named above are only a small part of that bad experience. Can anyone relate to any of this?
