Guest guest
It definitely gets easier. And once you see the correction occurring that will definitely help. Hang in there. Angie Jenna STAR grad 1/2003 Just got our helmet yesterday Hi everybody, I've been lurking & reading posts for a few months now but Gracie finally got her helmet yesterday so here we are.She has a Starlight, one of the clear ones. She seems okay with it so far but occasionally gets fussy and pushes on it. The worst part is that it steams up in there and her head gets so sweaty. I feel bad for her and I hate to have to put in on her. This gets easier, right??
Guest guest
Welcome to the group. There were a few success stories a while back with Starlight, but I don't think they are used by that many orthos. One good thing about it being clear is you can see the steam :-) Maybe that is a good time to take it off and wipe out the sweat until her body temperature adjusts to her new hat. It does get easier. Once they are on 23 hour wear the baby is usually happier that you aren't taking the band off and on all the time (which often annoys them). -christine sydney, 4 yrs, starband grad > > Hi everybody, I've been lurking & reading posts for a few months now but Gracie finally got her helmet yesterday so here we are. > She has a Starlight, one of the clear ones. Guest guest
My daughter just got her DOC band on Tuesday and I was feeling the same way. We don't have the steam issue because hers is white but just accepting the look of it on my little cutie pie. I didn't want to feel that way because she is adjusting and doing great with it, it is only temporary, and thankfully she is healthy and thriving. I couldn't get over my own feelings about seeing her with it on. (And being annoyed at myself for being so vain and caught up in how something looks.) Being out in public yesterday really helped me and I am already feeling better about it. I know it will get better and I will deal
