Guest guest
It gets easier as the months go by. We've all been at the beginning and we've all thought the same thoughts most likely. Try eating slower and chew more. That may help. I know when I don't do those 2 things properly I get that pressure in my chest. If I start feeling that way, I just slow way down and then I feel better. Hope this helps. in Delaware Lap RNY 3/10/04 261/180/

Guest guest
Hi, Tomorrow starts week 6 post-op. Yesterday for the first time, I was able to get down chicken, tofu, and an egg today without that terrible feeling that I just ate lead. It took me 1 1/2 hours to eat the 3 oz of chicken, because I had to stop halfway through. I think 3 oz is still too much chicken at one time for me, so I slowed it way down. I usually have to eat in increments, but no indigestion finally, and no dying for liquids. I did find a way to cheat with the liquids tho. After I eat, and I desperately need fluids, I suck on a popsicle (Tuppreware) so it gets my throat wet with only adding a tiny amount of liquid. I feel very fortunate never to have thrown up. I really thought that I would never eat comfortably again, but I kept trying. Everything has to be wet though. I found a 1 carb, 0 fat BBQ Sauce at the Health Food store, so I douse the chicken and tofu with it. Janet
