Dawn,

I had a similar experience after my TT, two large areas of the anchor

incision became necrotic. It did not, however become infected as

your incision obviously has. My PS saw me daily for several weeks,

for an initial wound debridement and then just to check. I continued

to see him twice a week or so for nearly three months, I also had a

massive seroma that would not heal and opened up into the necrotic

area (not pretty). I had to pack the wounds twice daily. I continued

to see him every few weeks until all was healed. Happily I have just

had the final scar revision and all looks much better.

The point here is, it is your MDs responsibility to properly follow

you post op. for him to ask you to return in three months with an

infected, necrotic wound is not right.

You are a consumer and have the right to be properly taken care of.

He should follow your case without extra cost to you or your

insurance. Demand proper medical care or go to someone who will

provide it-this is too important.

Best wishes, let us know how you are.

SueA (usually just a lurker)
