I have to agree with Sally regarding my eating program. I don't consider my

new way of life a " diet " . When I decided to have WLS I made a committment to

myself that I was going to give it my all. I changed my whole way of life,

from the way I ate, the food choices I made and an exercise program. I was

well aware before surgery that this was just a tool and that I would have to

work

at it to be successful. I am 19 mos. post op and am healthier than I have

been in well over 20 yrs. That was my goal. I follow a high protein, low carb

program and workout 5 days a week. At this point I have lost 80% of my excess

weight and am thrilled so far (as a Super Morbid Obese person I started out

far heavier than most). WLS is not magic. It merely gives us the tool to get

our weight to a manageable level so that eating properly and exercise will

keep us healthy.
