Hi Everyone.

My name is and I am 2 years post op. I am having a really hard

time with my weight. I have been off and on a lot of medication for

awhile now. Steroids was one of them. I have GAINED thirty-five

pounds since last year. I now find myself falling into a depression

where I don't even want to go out. I hate what I see in the mirror,

all 221Lbs of her! There is so much more to my story but maybe I

will be able to write about it at another time. Right now, I need

HELP!

How do I get back into everything again because god knows the weight

isn't going to fall off me like it did in the beginning when I could

barely eat? How do I jump start my metabolism? Has anyone else gone

through this? I am 28 years old and one problem I will mention is

due to multiple problems, I recently had to have a TOTAL

hysterectomy. My dreams were shattered and so began more of a weight

gain. How Could I have let this happen, after all the hard work and

promises that I would never go anywhere near the 200 lb mark again?

There are so many other things but right now, I need to focus on

myself and this weight. Please help me!

First, what meds are you on now. What supplements are you taking. Many of

us are very familiar with serious depressions. In my opinion, the best way to

jump start a loss is to go on an all protein regime for a few days. But you

also need bloodwork to determine if you are in need of Iron etc.

First of all welcome to the group. This is a great group and

very supportive.

I have been going through a mild depression lately and tend to

eat a lot more. I have discovered that when I am on my meds and talking

about the problem, it gets better. This group is also wonderful for

discussing your problems. It's almost as if the longer I hold onto the

problem the more I eat over it. My I suggest getting yourself into a

doctor to discuss medication and/or therapy. It certainly can't hurt.

The other thing I noticed was that you recently were on steroids

which can cause a weight gain (not your fault). You also had a

hysteractomy which can through your hormones into overload. This may

cause some of the depression and weight flactuations as well (again, not

your fault.) I guess what I am saying here is that you don't need to

beat yourself up for gaining some of the weight back. But there is also

a way to get back on track.

One of the best ways I can get back on track is to cut out the

simple carbs and do protein, protein, and more protein. I would take Fay

up on her recommendation to have bloodwork done. There maybe other

reason for the weight gain or some nutritional things that you need to

work on.
