Guest guest
Hi Everyone. My name is and I am 2 years post op. I am having a really hard time with my weight. I have been off and on a lot of medication for awhile now. Steroids was one of them. I have GAINED thirty-five pounds since last year. I now find myself falling into a depression where I don't even want to go out. I hate what I see in the mirror, all 221Lbs of her! There is so much more to my story but maybe I will be able to write about it at another time. Right now, I need HELP! How do I get back into everything again because god knows the weight isn't going to fall off me like it did in the beginning when I could barely eat? How do I jump start my metabolism? Has anyone else gone through this? I am 28 years old and one problem I will mention is due to multiple problems, I recently had to have a TOTAL hysterectomy. My dreams were shattered and so began more of a weight gain. How Could I have let this happen, after all the hard work and promises that I would never go anywhere near the 200 lb mark again? There are so many other things but right now, I need to focus on myself and this weight. Please help me! Sansone

In my opinion, the best way to jump start a loss is to go on an all protein regime for a few days. But you also need bloodwork to determine if you are in need of Iron etc. Fay Bayuk **300/166 10/23/01 Dr. Open RNY 150 cm Click for My Profile http://obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/profile.phtml?N=Bayuk951061008
Guest guest
, First of all welcome to the group. This is a great group and very supportive. I have been going through a mild depression lately and tend to eat a lot more. I have discovered that when I am on my meds and talking about the problem, it gets better. This group is also wonderful for discussing your problems. It's almost as if the longer I hold onto the problem the more I eat over it. My I suggest getting yourself into a doctor to discuss medication and/or therapy. It certainly can't hurt. The other thing I noticed was that you recently were on steroids which can cause a weight gain (not your fault). You also had a hysteractomy which can through your hormones into overload. This may cause some of the depression and weight flactuations as well (again, not your fault.) I guess what I am saying here is that you don't need to beat yourself up for gaining some of the weight back. But there is also a way to get back on track. One of the best ways I can get back on track is to cut out the simple carbs and do protein, protein, and more protein. I would take Fay up on her recommendation to have bloodwork done. There maybe other reason for the weight gain or some nutritional things that you need to work on.
