Guest guest
, Thanks. I had a Leforte 1. I didn't swell up very much at all which surprises me. I'm very thankful for not swelling much or bruising at all. I know I did with the first surgery (SAPRE). I had the same oral surgeon and maybe she changed the swelling medication? I had to stay in the hospital this time versus last time I didn't. They gave me more medication for the swelling while in their care and also kept changing my ice around the clock. Since I've been out of the hospital, I've pretty much had to be in A/C that is blasted for the breathing issues - not sure if that helped too? It could also be luck Regardless, I have no complaints about my recovery. In the beginning the breathing part was scary, but now that has gone by - PFEW Now is just figuring out what kind of food to try in a blender. Luckily, I have a very creative husband the enjoys cooking and trying new things for me. He grilled a hotdog and put pickles & ketchup on it just like I would and whipped up in a blender with some chicken gravy and believe it or not it was really good! I have been eating really good since coming home, but still losing weight too. I think I have lost about 8 pounds right now. I wouldn't mind losing more, but my Dr. doesn't want me to lose more than 10 pounds. I will listen to her When I went for my two post ops last week (Tuesday and Thursday) everyone in the oral surgeons office was surprised at how well I was doing. They remembered how much I swelled with the SARPE back in October 2003. I remember I was swelled for about 5 weeks and bruised bad...I personally was expecting that again, but thrilled it didn't happen Happy Recovery.
