Antibiotics

Hi,

I had my surgery 5 days ago, upper, lower, genio and palate split and

I was wondering if it was unusual that once I got out of the hospital,

besides the Peridex mouthwash, I wasn't perscibed any sort of

antibiotic. Wouldn't you think that maybe it would be a good idea to

have that, rather than wait around for a possible infection and get

treated then? I know some doctors don't believe in giving antibiotics

for the sake of it, but I'm so nervous I'm Peridexing myself many, many

times a day. I was wondering if anyone else was not given antibiotics

too?
