It has been owned and operated by the Barbella family since 1969. Shari Barbella, the current owner, is very keen to work closely with the local Celiac Support Groups to meet the community's gluten free needs. She also attended the Stanford Group's meeting in May.This store already offers a good selection of gluten free products (cereals, baking mixes, pasta) from some of our favorite brands: Gluten Free Pantry, Sylvan Border Farms, Ener-G Foods, Tinkyada, etc. One can also find a variety of gluten free cookbooks and other reference materials for the newly diagnosed celiac. Shari is in the process of creating a separate counter/area for Wheat Free/Gluten Free products. Also, depending on demand, she is even open to the idea of having a frozen food section for gluten free products (like breads, dough-nuts, bagels, etc.) in her store at a later date. Shari is already working with a few gluten free food vendors as well as the Celiac Disease Foundation in Southern California to get a better understanding of how she can best meet our needs. Let us take this opportunity and make the most of this happy situation where a store wants to provide us with all kinds of gluten free products!==========================================
