I’m

still trying to locate my test results from seven years ago, so I can give you

the numbers. I have moved twice in the past three years, so my older

medical history files aren’t where I thought they should be…

I may have to get copies from my doctors, so it may take me a few days to get

back to you with the details. I have my lab results from the past few

years, but I’ll wait to give them to you until I can pull out the numbers

from the time my upper GI was in a bad state. I only have a vague idea of

what those values were, abnormally high of course, but I want to give you the

numbers. I was very ill at the time and wasn’t paying as much

attention as I should have.

So,

I’ll be in touch. I’ll email you offlist, if that is OK with

you, since the topic is moving into non-SCD territory [grin].

One

thing I’ve found to be extremely important to me in my work to control my

chronic symptoms, is that I have to experiment and run trials to determine what

my body will tolerate and what will be the most helpful so I can improve.

I do the research, talk to my doctors, then start my testing. It gets

complicated at times, since I have issues involving several body systems, so

things my doctors or research or others in my support groups recommend usually

cause intolerable side-effects. I value the test and lab results and

regular meetings with my doctors, but much of what I’ve done to control

symptoms has resulted from my own research and testing.

Which

is a normal experience, given our individual variations and the current state

of our medical knowledge. And our healthcare systems.

I’ll

be in touch when I find those test results from six and seven years ago.
