Guest guest
<<there are many embarrassing aspects of this disease and can cause a lot of anxiety getting out there in the social world. I am on home oxygen therapy and sometimes need to carry a portable respirator, besides the Gastric issues. Talk about feeling confident going on a first date...this is very difficult and I understand the original poster completely!>> If we're cooperating w/ life's lessons we learn that EVERYBODY has embarrassing issues and if you think someone doesn't, you just don't know them well enough. And this starts with having to have our diapers changed as babies and having accidents as a young child. Those who can't deal with these realities are immature. Right now I'm dating a guy who only an hour ago got out of surgery for prostate cancer. It may well have left him impotent (a term that I think should be removed from our vocabulary). If we live long enough every one of us will have to grapple with losing the things that society tells us make us lovable. So, when my head is screwed on straight -- instead of worshiping at the feet of the god " Woe iz Carol " 'cause of my diet and what others might think -- I accept my health challenge it as a Gift, a major Advance Placement lesson in Life and how to be the best Carol I can be, the Carol I was MADE to be. Love to all, Artful Carol
