Guest guest
Hi everyone! Thanks for the welcomes and advice. Things are still going well for me. Had my first full shower today and it was wonderful. I'm doing ten laps around my back yard daily. I noticed someone wanted to know if there were any diabetics here and I am a Type II. My glucose went up a bit in the hospital after surgery and I had a few insulin injections, but it went down before discharge and has remained down ever since. Before the GBP I was controlling it with glucophage (1000 mg twice a day) and diet. I also have high blood pressure, GERD, high cholesterol, and degenerative joint disease. Plus, I'm 64 years old which was about the only reason they had doubts about doing the GBP. They thought I was a great candidate, but their malpractice insurance recommends not doing it after the age of 60. Guess we showed them! My doctor told me I could have anything to eat that could be liquified, so I've been having cottage cheese, yogurt, skim milk, protein powder and fresh peaches from my tree. Today I simmered all the vegetables in the house in nf chicken broth and then pureed it in the blender. Delicious! Pretty cheap, too. My son even liked it, before it was pureed. As I understand it, I need to wait a while to add meat because it doesn't liquify well. But I'm checking out the recipes in all my lf cookbooks and man do they look good! How is the lady with the broken ankle? Can't remember her name, but felt so sorry for her. I thought about her while having my shower this morning. And it's so wonderful about the pregnancies. This is beginning a new life with a vengeance! So since waiting around to begin--time's a wastin!
