Hello all,

First of all, if anyone has had Lehman in Akron, OH for a

surgeon, please let me know.

I am in braces for the third time after a previous ortho tried to

correct my bite with braces which failed miserably. I was only

hitting

on my front teeth for four years and she pretty much slanted my front

teeth out to compensate for my under-bite. My current ortho

recommended surgery which I should have had ten years ago when this

all

began.

I have some questions though. I am a little nervous about what seems

like a lack of planning on the part of my surgeon and ortho. I have

hardly seen my surgeon through all of this and my ortho asked me who

was doing the surgery last week and my surgery is 2 weeks away.

Should

I be worried? I'm only having my upper moved down and out. Maybe

this

doesn't require too much planning. My biggest dilemma now is that

since

the braces have pulled my teeth back in, my bite is actually pretty

good on the sides but I am getting a massive under-bite now, worse

than

before the braces started. Since my bite is pretty much functional,

I

feel like I am doing this for purely cosmetic purposes and I'm 37

years

old. Should I just live with an under-bite rather than put myself at

the risk for complications?

I'm going for pre-op testing and having my splint made on June 3rd

and

surgery is the 7th.
