Guest guest
Congratulations Constantine!! I am so jealous! But pleased for you. I can't wait to have the same sense of freedom as you did. When you say that half of your swelling can be attributed to the splint do you mean the swelling around your lip and upper lip/lower cheek area? And can you really lick your lips now?? I was beginning to wonder today if I'll ever be able to do that again. Sara
Guest guest
Thanks Sara. Yes I really can lick my lips. As for the reduced swelling after removal it was in the mid-cheek area and the lips. Now all I'm left with is a slight swelling around my lower left jaw. Be advised though... I ventured to the shops for 5-10 minutes and was left exhausted. I also lost 6.3kg since the op. Not good. > Congratulations Constantine!! I am so jealous! But pleased for you. I > can't wait to have the same sense of freedom as you did. Guest guest
Constantine, yes I know all about the exhaustion. I feel it too. Have managed to venture out to the movies twice and go shopping twice and I was wiped out the day after. We must take it easy. And don't get me started on the weight loss. I have lost 6 kgs so far and I still have the splint in. Am starting to look like a fish with fish lips, sunken eyes and puffy cheeks. Still, your desplinting story has given me something to look forward to! Less puffiness and being able to lick my lips. Can't wait! Enjoy the risotto ai funghi. Yum yum.
