Guest guest
Hi June buddies! Is everyone ready for surgery now? I'm getting there. Still fighting the insurance battle to get in-network approval but otherwise everything seems to be on course so far. My surgery could still be post-poned if the artificial joints aren't absolutely perfect but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they will be. I'm still a little worried about that. Of course I'm happy that my surgeon is a perfectionist but I really don't want and can't afford another delay. Now I'm just enjoying time with my girls. We're shipping them off to their grandparents in Alabama on Sunday until I'm two weeks post-op. I'll really miss them while they're gone but I wouldn't be able to get much rest if they were home. Because fish is one of the few things I can still eat, we went to my favorite seafood restaurant. Yum! I don't know when I'll be able to eat more normal foods again. I won't be banded shut and my surgeon will want me chewing as soon as possible but I don't think I'll feel up to eating a whole lot. I'm not taking much to the hospital either. Just the clothes I'm wearing (something loose and comfy) and a brush and baby toothbrush. Based on my previous experiences, I don't want to wear my own gown or pajamas. Between the drooling, bleeding, puking and occasional leaky IV and ice packs, things got pretty messy. I didn't want to take any of that yucky stuff home with me. I didn't leave my room much anyway and when I did people were too busy staring at my face to notice what I was wearing. I did put a second hospital gown on backwards to cover my back and prevent any sneak peaks. Ha! Like there's anything to see! minirascal- 8 days to go! > Good Morning Fay, > > I was just wondering how that Food Celebration went over the weekend. > I hope you ate until you could eat no more..(haha) > > Your big day is drawing so ever closer!
